Lesbian Travel To Film Festival in Canada

The London Lesbian Film Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and it is chronicling all of its successes and challenges in fighting for lesbian rights by creating a documentary. The festival is the only one of its kind in North America, and the documentary will include filming conducted at the event this year at the CitiPlaza in London, Canada.

The historical documentary is coming together with assistance from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. It will underscore the films that have dealt with issues in the lesbian community, such as marriage, transgender, lesbian families and legal barriers. The festival will include movie screenings as well as entertainment by the Dukes of Drag, who include 15 gender-bending members, and comedian Dana Goldberg. Traditional Indigenous Values is a 2009 US film that is making its Canadian debut in London. The short documentary exposes the contemporary outcomes of homophobia that was imposed on native communities through colonization.
